How do I file a loss/damage claim for a BTX shipment that arrived, but damage was concealed?

If concealed loss or damage is discovered after delivery, you must notify us within 2 business days of the date of delivery by either calling 877-289-2471 or by submitting a claim in writing to:

You must retain the shipping cartons, packing, and content in the same condition they were in when the concealed loss or damage was discovered. BTX reserves the right to inspect the original shipping cartons, packing and content.

Who can file a claim?

The sender, the recipient, or a third-party can file the claim.

What is BTX's claims procedure?

All claims for loss, damage, undercharge or overcharge must be made in writing to:

Claims must be filed within nine months and nine days after the date of acceptance of the shipment by BTX. Claims may also be faxed to 203-925-5938. All claims should be sent to the attention of the appropriate department:

  • Claims Department: Loss or damage
  • Accounts Receivable: For overcharges or undercharges for services provided by BTX
  • Transportation Payables: For overcharges or undercharges for services provided to BTX by a vendor
